Spring break was awesome. In summary, the RV trip down the east coast was an absolute shitshow, everyshow lunch was a complete disaster, champ almost died, southerners love to saw 'Woo!' and 'Yea', La Vela is great, but I don't think it's the biggest club in the US, Lil Jon's performance was a dissappointment, I can eat more pork than I thought I could, but not more than Cracker, Energy Fizz + Rockstar = Freak the Fuck out, Harmon and Gavin will be on MTV the 21st of this month, Gulf Slides everywhere, Coyote Ugly dancers are people too ... who take ridiculous amounts of your money for extravagant shots. I also chipped my tooth doing a body shot. A prize to the first person who can guess how.
That's it, in a nutshell.
Jobs? I got invited to the 2nd round of Staples interviews ... which in in effing April. That pisses me off because I STILL have Softscape on hold. I have no idea how long they want to sit there. The recruiter told me to get back to him when all is said and done, but with this, and GE still not having responded to me, who knows how long it'll take. This sucks, well, kinda. ScerIS decided I wasn't fitting for their job, which got me thinking on a different level. Maybe I didn't rep myself correctly, but anyway, I got plenty of other opportunities. Like Pope's place. They got an opening for a web developer, I think that's hot. I love web stuff, and ASP is actually kinda fun and .. interesting, to me? Shut up. The kicker is that there's a professional salary in it for a very small company ... with POPE! think of the shenanigans, really.
Kilroy has some major potential this term. We got an IB show in 9 days ... yea, next Sunday. We are going to rehearse our asses off for this one ladies and gentlemen, believe you me. Also, we're going full-force into the stand-up initiative this term too. I'm excited and nervous about it. I really think it's something we, and I, can do. But it's nothing I've ever done before, or either of us for that matter. At least I have plenty of material to work with, at least I did. I better start writing stuff down.
I've already got a few sketches done for this term, and I'm really happy with them. I put in a good honest amount of time, effort, and work on them, and I hope the group likes them. Though, we are at a shortage of sorts. I plan on writing a few more this weekend if possible. I really want to go all out this term, in all aspects of school ... I'm gonna call that pulling a Mildo.
My sketches so far are on my webspace. Here they are, check 'em out if you want:
Interview for Two
The Ballcrushers
What I liked best about these two sketches so far is that I am displaying two totally different kinds of comedy. One is situational, and more intelligent I believe. While the other is very in-your-face, vulgar, and flat out ridiculous.
In the time of the weekend I plan on writing even more different kinds. Mostly, I hope to get my musical bit done. A la 70's dance fight esque humor, but something more dramatic. I really hope people understand I'm not a one trick pony over here. I really can do more than swear, get angry, and right crass material, hahaha ... Fuck you.
Speaking of drama, I auditioned for New Voices last nite, random, I know. I got two callbacks, one for Hillary's play, "Heaven is full of Toasters" and one for another one called "Unauthorized Transactions", where I would play the lead role as a bank robber. I don't know what role I am wanted for in Hillarys, the director was not specific. Even more interesting is that she provided me with a link that would tell me exactly where the callbacks would be. Upon clicking it, I was taken to a New Voices page that said "Callbacks will be in the location noted below" and below was a picture of a beautiful sunset with a tree and some shrubs in the foreground. Excellent.
What else. Management classes suck, that's what. I'm taking my last one and it's a fucking snore. I despise business classes, fuck them, "Yes, Fuck them!". Good thing they are ridiculously easy to me. Social Imps seems interesting though, but the amount of reading and writing involved, though I actually like that stuff, is definitely going to get in the way of more important stuff to me, like Kilroy and rehearsals and what not. Oh, I have my priorities alrite. Don't you worry.
I saw this guy today on the way back to my car, he was distinctly foreign and probably about 40, I think Indian becauase his head was wrapped in a towel. Anyway, he looks straight up at me and says, in a very enunciated manner, "Hey, man!". I reply with "How ya doin'", and he nearly cuts me off before I finish and loudly proclaims, "Thank you!!" and then scuttled away with the vaccuum he was using to clean his car. I walked the next 20 feet to my car extremely confused and giggly.
I graduate soon. Not sure where I am going to live yet. I am thinking about Providence, but I still need roommates. My potential roomates are still looking for jobs and are further behind that I am in the process. I hate anticipation. Especially that of not knowing where I am going to be in only a few short months.
I'm going to miss all this.
A lot.
