I guess you could say things have been going pretty well lately.
First off, the IB show is coming out well. We've been rehearsing quite a bit, and I'm confident that we'll do great when we perform. This is a milestone in Kilroy history as far as I know, because I don't think we've ever really performed for a non-college crowd. What else is cool that most of the cast for this show are the newer members; I feel that this gave them a chance to establish themselves and some of us a chance to get to know them a bit better. Except Imran, of course. Also, that goes for Sara too. One thing I don't get is that someone told her that they noticed that she is 'improving': that's bullshit. How I see it is that most people wrote Sara off as a useful member in Kilroy because she wasn't a strong writer, and because, for some reason, the other girls in Kilroy - who have since proved themselves to be less dependable - were cast more often than Sara. Also, some people had this notion that she was a bad actress; that's funny, seeing as how she was so rarely cast, but when she was, not only was she always on time and dependable, she did just as good, if not better, than other girls at the time. Now that no girls are around she got quite a few roles and people are telling her she's 'improved'. It's not that she improved, it's that she's finally getting noticed and getting the respect she deserved all along. And I'm not just saying this as her boyfriend - this process started even before we were involved.
Moving along. I'm in two New Voices plays. Sara and I decided to do this on a whim during the last day of auditioning. I was having mixed feelings at first about getting involved with it, but I decided to seeing as how it's the last chance I ever will get to. Also, getting my first taste of masque, I can tell you I've met a few people in it who clearly represent the supercilious typecast that I've become familiar with. Speaking of typecast, I think I was when I was selected for my minor role; it was clearly all about my voice. (waits for Pope jokes).
Concerning the job world, my GE interviews are moving along quite smoothly. I was told I made it to round 2, which I was told during round 1 would be at one of their facilities and with multiple people. However, I had to partake in a preliminary phone interview yesterday, or so it seemed. After that interview I was told I would receive notice later in the week. I thought this notice would be to find out if I had been accepted to round 2, naturally. So, I get an email, actually 4, and they are each about a schedule phone interview for another person. I have a block of 4 half hour phone interviews after class today, and I don't even know what for. Is this more screening? is this round 2? can I call a friend? where is the Agro Crag?! Seriously, I mean, I like phone interviews cause I can do them in my pajamas or while on the toilet or whatever, but, c'mon, haven't you ever heard of party-line?
Also, so far it seems like I don't have anyone to live with yet after graduation. Seems like I'll be headed home for a bit I guess. I should've expected this, though. I mean, all my years here I have never had a premium living arrangement with people I wanted to live with. In fact, I hate my current landlord / ogre so much for reasons of him being a terrible landlord / drug dealer / drug abuser / 8 foot tall pile of wasted flesh that I plan to press charges on him before leaving here, for a variety of extremely legitimate reasons. Clear and plain, he is unfit to be responsible for the well-being of ANY other rational, normal, clean, human-being.
Now, for me to get angry. iTunes fucking blows - for many reasons. I don't want to move my music off my harddrive partition into your special iTunes folder. Ok, so I'll import from my folder, and what do I get? Doubles of fucking everything where only one fucking copy works! Next, I create a playlist, and expect to be able to right-click on it and import a folder or files to it (a la winamp), NOPE! I have to move files from my gargantuan fucking library to do that! "But Kyle, you can make smart playlists! bla bla!" Apparantly, these don't work unless ALL of your fucking music is in the iTunes folder. Also, putting a folder IN the itunes folder which is a shortcut to where you music is, and where you WANT it to be, doesn't work either. Seriously, iTunes lacks some very basic and expected functionality if you ask me. Also, it's too fucking big. I don't care if there is a smaller size. The smaller size looks like CRAP, and the default SHOULD be tiny; I don't need my music app to take up my entire fucking screen!! Also, in case your wondering, I HAVE to use it because I bought a Shuffle. Fuck you Apple. Fuck you in your proprietary asshole.
