A novel use
Let's put this functionality of this journal to some good use, that is, if you don't mind.

I have two issues that I would like some opinions on - if things go well it could very likely enhance the quality of my life: won't that make you feel good?

1 - Eating Healthily and Economically.

Financial situations lately are amazingly difficult. I hate the student loan system. That aside, I'm trying to cut costs as much as possible. I simply can't afford to buy lunch at work anymore. So, I'm trying to think of foods that are 1.) relatively cheap 2.) good for me 3.) can be bought in bulk and stored for a reasonable amount of time without going bad and 4.) taste good (that would help).

As it is, I am spending like 5 bucks a meal, and that's no good. I know I can identify some key foods that fit these criteria, but I would like to know what everyone else thinks. Variety is the spice of life, right? If this was your situation, what would you buy the most of? Oh, lunch or dinner, mind you.

2 - Enhancing life through sound

Music is one of my favorite things. There is never a time where I am home and music is not playing. I wish I had more time to search around and delve deeper into music, but I just don't have the capacity to download, listen, decide, repeat. I would like you to tell me what your favorite three albums are, and maybe even why. This is something people like to do anyway, right?

Thanks!

I can't do it! But alas, this allows me to go on a rant to pass time. These aren't my fav's I guess, but these few rule for different reasons.

Les Claypools Fearless Flying Frog Brigade- Live Set 1: INSANE bass, great jamming, doesn't have the metal edge of Primus, much more jammin.

Bootsys Rubber Band- Live in Louisville '78: It's impossible to have more space bass than what is on this cd. The space bass sounds like a jackhammer on steroids breathing fire out its neck. It's so scary, it killed the first two rows of people, and Bootsy didn't wear a shirt during this performance. Every second is ultra high tempo, fast, and intense. It also killed my old cpu speakers.

Frank Zappa- You Can't Do That On Stage Volume 1: After a band member talks about puking on stage, it then starts with a great story about a fat floating sofa and the good Lord, before it goes into a whole song in the german language. He has the audience do live poetry readings. He's ultra sarcastic about so much stuff. For example, he makes fun of every punk/teen band by writing the perfect punk/teen song lyrics and all. He also goes on MTV makes fun of how dumb its viewers are, bashes all things religion to no end then recommends suicide as a solution. He basically slaps everything in the face with pure sarcastic glory. Besides the fact that Frank Zappa is known as rock and roll's most brilliant musical mind, he wrote everything he ever did in sheet music, and created some of the most challenging music ever. Also the only guy to join the rock and roll hall of fame, jazz hall of fame, and composers hall of fame. This album shows diversity across all spectrums of Zappa.

GZA/Genius- Liquid Swords: Probably the darkest, rawest hip hop album there is. There's kung fu all over this. Lyrics about, flying guillotines, poison darts, ninjas, spiked floors, throwing knives, dungeons, drug deals, duels, chess, blood, swords. This is the definition of grimy. You probably won't realize how insane the lyrics are until multiple listens, like any classic hip hop album.

Good stuff!

My only question is, if Bootsies live CD has that much splank, I wonder what it would'v been like if it was studio recorded.

Those CD's will enter my eMule queue when I get home. Thanks.
